DISCUSSION ITEMS:
- Program Changes – CAL GETC (5)
- Jacobi introduced the new CAL-GETC, General Education pattern. The new pattern was created by UC, CSU, and Community College systems with the intent to reduce the number of excess units accumulated by students before transferring. The goal is to further streamline and make the transfer process easier for students to navigate. A brief discussion was had regarding the future of our local Gen. Ed. Pattern. The committee discussed examples of potential revisions/changes to our curriculum. The proposed implementation timeline is Fall of 2024. Item will be discussed as more information becomes available.
- 22-23 C & GE Charter (14)
The committee discussed the revisions proposed to the C & GE Charter. Minor grammar corrections were made under “Specific Responsibilities”. Number eleven, under “Specific Responsibilities” will be moved to the District “Curriculum Approval Process” section. “Assign discipline” will be added to “Specific Responsibilities”. “Designee” was added to all voting members to ensure quorum will be met. “Senior Research Assistant” was removed as a member of the C & GE Committee. Item will be in action for our October 2022 meeting.
- PSYC 2200 Elementary Statistics for the Behavioral and Social Sciences (DE/L – COR Revisions)
PSYC 2200 was tabled from a previous meeting. The committee discussed the difference between tabling, moving, and removing items from the agenda. The Division is considering adding PSYC 2200 to the Psychology TMC. Social Science has pulled this item from future meetings.
- Board Policies – new policies in place (22)
- Jacobi updated the Committee on recent Board Policy revisions. The C & GE Committee updated AP-4020, 4025, and 4100 in Spring 2022. The Committee will revise Board Policies as needed.
