  1. Discussion Items:

Discussion items were re-arranged in the following order:

  1. General Education Learning Outcomes
  2. Minor informed the committee of the plans to add GE SLO’s to syllabi, for every GE course in our inventory. The committee also discussed adding SLOs to the course outline. An example will be included on a future COR revision. This item will be discussed as more information becomes available.

  1. DEI inclusion in course development
  2. Jacobi gave an update on DEI inclusion in course development. California is still working on clarifying many questions that have arisen from this bill. The group acknowledges the importance of this process and is committed to doing their part. Division Chairs will continue developing curriculum through the DEI lens. This item will be covered at our Fall 2023 C & GE in-service.
  3. Other

The committee briefly discussed OER textbooks & our current standing. Historically Taft College has been good at purchasing textbooks in order to pass the savings along to our students. T. Mendoza shared her experience with multiple textbooks listed on CORs. BC lists multiple textbooks and allows the Faculty (as a group) to decide which textbook they will use. The TAR process will be reviewed at our Fall 2023 in-service (C & GE) meeting.

Meeting adjourned at 2:35 p.m.
