with the date of replacement.

as well as for Maintenance and the Library. Each has been secured in a place for easy
access and this information should be communicated to faculty and staff located in
these buildings.
3. A contract with Kern Security for two more FOB’s for Science room 6 & 7 has been
secured.
4. Jose with AP Architects has been contacted via email to see if we can have the
Technical Arts doors remain locked for approximately 15 minutes instead of 5 when
the door bar is pulled 3 times.
5. Implemented Blackboard Connect to quickly deliver emergency text messages to students,
faculty and staff.
6. Upgraded our phone system to have alert messages sent via speaker phone instead
of text on the phone screen.
7. Sergeant Buford has been assigned our liaison with the Taft City Police department.
Sergeant Buford’s phone contact is 661.201.5204 and his email is [email protected].
Mike Capela escorted Sergeant Buford throughout the campus to offer him a chance to
become familiar with the college layout and he has been supplied the colleges floor
plans as well as our college safety plan.
8. Entered into MOU with the Taft Police Department to have a full-time officer stationed
on campus.
9. Distributed over 20 Campus two-way radios to strategic locations throughout the
campus.

11. Security personnel walked through entire campus and identified and addressed several
potential security issues.
12. Implemented a Daily Crime Log to report campus crime and comply with Federal requirements.
13. Security personnel attended training on the Clery Act to better communicate security
and safety issues to the Campus community.
