- Review possible new English 1500 equivalent DISCUSSION
*Study from 2022- English 1500 for multilingual writers
-ESL has a higher success rate than those in traditional classes, but when put in English department, it would not fill.
*4 units, more grammar, more editing time, students opt into it, offer in both formats (face-to-face and online), even at night. Adjunct would need to meet minimum quals. Kulzer-Reyes teaches multilingual students anyway, so why not make it transferable?
*Concerns – would this interfere with 1501?
takes two years to be approved by the chancellor’s office
ESL classes at adult ed are full, but those students are not prepared to come to TC
Adult ed ESL students are not seeking to come to TC. Most students from adult ed are GED
students
*Kulzer-Reyes will start work on the class.
*What about dual enrollment?

*Needs to be filled ASAP for program to begin immediately
