New Business:
- Embedded tutors – summer and fall Informational
Lori shared that we are using embedded tutors for two courses this summer-English, and Calculus. She has not yet put out a fall request because there are still too many planning items up in the air for fall.
- Summer support Informational
For summer, the Learning Center will offer both in person (by appointment) and online tutoring. Hours will be within the library’s hours of 8-4:30. There will also be SI support in History and Psyc 2200 classes. Renae will give online workshops regarding surviving online college math.
- Fall support Informational
For fall, the Learning Center will offer SI, in person tutoring (not sure yet about walkins), and online tutoring. Hours are to be determined. Student worker hiring has been slow due to less referrals than normal. We have two or three returning in fall.
- Academic Senate presentation Discussion
Sharyn has requested a brief committee presentation at the August inservice week Senate of the Whole convening. Committee chairs are being asked to report the action goals that the committees have set for 2021-2022. This includes AB 705’s impact on student success, etc., institutionalization of Guided Pathways, and possible recommendations for support. The Learning Center will make every effort to maximize support, especially for transfer level (and below) Math, Psyc 2200, and English. This falls under the GP pillar “Stay on The Path.”
