Add and Drop Classes

Here's how to do it:

    1. Log in to MyTC
    2. Click on the icon that says Registration (Cougar Tracks).
    3. Click “Register for Classes”
    4. Select Term and click continue
    5. Search for courses by clicking in the "subject", "course number", or "keyword" box. You can "search" without putting any information to see all available classes for the term.
    6. Click “add” on the right-hand side of the screen, next to the course you would like to register in. This will cause the course to appear in your summary on the bottom right-hand side of the page. If you are attempting to drop, click on the drop-down menu next to the course and select the appropriate action.
    7. In the "summary" section in the bottom right-hand side of the page, click "Submit".

Add Authorization Codes


Do you need an add authorization code?

Add authorization codes are required to register for a course that course has already started. You can request an add authorization code from your instructor. Keep in mind that instructors issue add authorization codes at their discretion.

Here's how to do it:

    1. Email your instructor your name, student ID, and the CRN of the course you are interested in attending. It is up to your instructor to determine if you will receive an add code.
    2. If they choose to issue you an add authorization code, please follow the remaining steps below.
    3. Log in to MyTC
    4. Click on the icon that says Registration (Cougar Tracks).
    5. Click “Register for Classes”
    6. Select Term and click continue
    7. Search for the course using the preferred fields.
    8. Click “add” on the right-hand side of the screen, next to the course you would like to register in. This will cause the course to appear in your summary on the bottom right-hand side of the page.
    9. In the "summary" section in the bottom right-hand side of the page, click "submit".
    10. If you are currently waitlisted in the course, you will need to do the following: drop the course, refresh the page, "add" the course, then click "submit"
    11. If you would like to see the add authorization code(s) issued to you, you can do so by doing the following: log in to

Waitlist Information


Is the class you want closed? Get waitlisted.

Taft College has official waitlists for all classes. Login to your MyTC portal to get waitlisted!

Here's how to do it:

    1. Log in to MyTC
    2. Click on the icon that says Registration (Cougar Tracks).
    3. Click “Register for Classes”
    4. Select Term and click continue
    5. Search for courses by clicking in the "subject", "course number", or "keyword" box. You can "search" without putting any information to see all available classes for the term.
    6. Click “add” on the right-hand side of the screen, next to the course you would like to register in. This will cause the course to appear in your summary on the bottom right-hand side of the page.
    7. In the "summary" section in the bottom right-hand side of the page, choose "Waitlist" from the drop-down menu.
    8. Click "Submit" in the bottom right-hand side of the page.
    9. To see your position on the waitlist, click on “Schedule Details” tab in the bottom left-hand side of the page, you will see the course information including your “Position” on the waitlist. Note that you will not see the units for the waitlisted class in your unit total until you are actually in the class.

What happens next?

If a seat becomes available in the class, you will be notified with registration instructions via email. Be sure to check your junk/SPAM mailbox! You will have 72 hours from the time the e-mail was sent to register for the class. If you do not register for the class within 72 hours, you will be removed from the waitlist. The waitlist function ends on the day of the first class meeting!
