The group approved the minutes by consensus.

Vicki reminded the group that the PowerPoint shared last meeting had some good pieces for the upcoming work on our own SEMP. Vicki also briefly spoke about the three plans previously sent out: Long Beach, Victor Valley, and Northeast Alabama. Vicki also highlighted that many components of the SEMP will come from plans that we already have such as the Educational Master Plan and the Guided Pathways Plan. She emphasized that we do not need to recreate the wheel.

Vicki also went over the 6 components of a SEMP: introduction; institutional and situational assessment; student recruitment and enrollment strategy; student retention and student success strategy; marketing and student financial support strategy; and conclusion. Damon also provided an overview of the different topics that may be included in each section.

The group discussed the schedule for the remainder of the school year. The goal is to have the SEMP to Governance Council in May. The group would like to have the draft done in April. The group decided to meet with their workgroups in December and February. The larger group will meet in January, March, and April. The Spring schedule will be decided on during the January meeting.

Members then signed up for workgroups. They are as follows:

Damon announced that Leslie will co-chair the committee with Vicki in the Fall semester (Danielle will support the committee). Damon will co-chair the committee with Vicki in the Spring semester (Melissa will support the committee).
