Orientation
Welcome to Your Online Orientation!
Orientation, provided during your first counseling appointment and offered both in English and Spanish, is designed to help familiarize you with the tools needed to succeed and help facilitate your transition and integration into the college learning environment. By participating in orientation, you will:
- Learn what Taft College faculty expect from you as a first-time college student at Taft College
- Hear from current Taft College students as they share student tips for success
- Be more familiar with the academic and support resources available to you to help you succeed
- Feel more comfortable with campus processes such as registration, math, and English placement exams, and paying tuition
- Learn more about campus life and student organizations on campus
- Feel more confident about your transition to Taft College
Upon successful completion of the orientation, you will be able to demonstrate an understanding of:
- The required enrollment steps prior to registering for courses
- The names and services provided by Taft College student support programs
- The study support and tutoring services provided by Taft College
- Logging into and managing your campus MyTC portal
- Proven academic planning strategies
- Where to obtain your college ID card and/or number
- Identify pre-registration holds and semester enrollment dates
- How to view and purchase course textbooks
- Taft College information, policies, and procedures
